"Big Hero 6" and "Raya and the Last Dragon" director Don Hall moved to Sky Dance Animation

Skydance Animation has terminated its contract with veteran Disney director Don Hall to join the company's growing creative talent.

Hall creates, develops and produces original animation features for the studio. Details about this project are not provided at this time.

At Disney, Hall oversaw 4 features – Winnie the Pooh, Big Hero 6, Raya and the Last Dragon, and a strange world. Other important credits include Moana's co-director and Meet the Robinson's and the Head of the Princess and the Frog Story.

Skydance Animation has only released 1 feature so far – Luck (2022) – a company led by John Lasseter has had great success in recruiting top-notch talent to join the company. The announced directors of the upcoming Sky Dance film are Vicky Jenson (Spellbound), Nathan Gruno (Pookoo), Brad Bird (Ray Gunn) and Rich Moore (untitled Jack and The Beanstalk project). The studio's next feature, Spellbound, will be released on Netflix later this year, and the first animated series, WondLa, will debut on Apple TV+ in a few weeks.
