First Look Disney Film Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero

In addition to "Star vs. the Force of Evil," Disney TV Animation is producing a second action/comedy series slated to debut on Disney XD in 2015: Pen Zero: Part-Time Hero. A short preview, unveiled at last month's Comic-Con, was posted on the USA Today website.

The show, which follows the adventures of an ordinary boy with a part-time hero job, is created by writer Jared Bush and artist Sam Levine. Bush is a TV screenwriter whose credits include the UPN sitcom "All of Us" and the reality show "Who Wants to Marry My Dad," and he was recently hired by Disney to write the feature film "Zootopia. Levine, who will direct "Pen Zero," is a Disney veteran who has worked in the animation department on "Hercules" and "Tarzan" and as a story artist on "Bolt. Levine also developed and directed the unproduced Disney feature film "Joe Jump," which eventually morphed into another video game-themed film called "Wreck-It Ralph."

While the brief preview makes it difficult to gauge how the show will be distinguished from countless other children's hero shows like Johnny Test and Danny Phantom, the clip at least suggests that the series has a unique sense of design and solid production values ...]
