Kids in School Show "Keymon Ache" Debuts in India

Earlier this week, Keymon Ache premiered on Nickelodeon India. You can watch the first episode on Nick India's website. The story of an ordinary Indian boy and his magical lap monkey, Keymon Ache.

The series is touted as "India's first non-mythological contemporary show" and is produced by DQ Entertainment. The reason this is important is that the production of the show, right down to the creative pre-production elements, was done entirely in India, and the results are almost on par with Western animated series. There are a few localized innovations, such as the boy not wearing shoes in the house, but for the most part the show looks and feels like a Western show. The fact that India can now produce a Westernized animated series from concept to completion is an accomplishment and a game changer for the animation industry.
