Watch the new Pixelator Festival Signal Film by Humberto Cervera and Hobby Studios of Guadalajara (EXCLUSIVE)

The trailer for the signal film celebrating the 13th edition of Pixelatl, Mexico's leading animation festival and market, was released online today, and Cartoon Brew is proud to present this exclusive trailer.

Titled Face Your Fears, the colorful and exciting stop-motion film was conceived and directed by screenwriter and former Cartoon Network Latin America executive Humberto Cervera in collaboration with Guadalajara-based Hobby Animation. and directed by Humberto Cervera, a screenwriter and former Cartoon Network Latin America executive. Concept art and look development was handled by Mexican studio Ronin, with music/audio production by Bakemono.

The film follows a group of disgruntled townspeople in pursuit of hearts in a village, who eventually realize that their frustration is caused by fear and that they have the power to change by embracing love. Cartoon Brew will be posting more information about this work in the coming weeks.

This year's Pixelatl event will be held in Guadalajara from September 3-7. This event has long been recognized as a link between the burgeoning Mexican and Latin American animation industries and those in North America and Europe.

The event, which also includes comics and video game production, has always offered a stellar lineup of guest speakers, this year again Ian Jones-Quarti (OK K.O! Let's Be Heroes), Magda Osinka (Star Wars: Visions director), Jorge Gutierrez (Maya and the Three), Natasha Klein (Primos), Sarah Varon (author of the Robot Dreams graphic novel), Sanjay Patel (Ghee Happy), and concept artist Dongre Yu will be among the speakers.
