Reactions to DreamWorks Animation's “Wild Robot,” which had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), have been pouring in.

The reactions have been the most enthusiastic of any U.S. animated feature so far this year. From “the best of DreamWorks Animation” to “one of the best animated films I've seen in a while,” critics have praised the film as not only the best animated film of the year, but one of the best films of the year overall.

“Wild Robot” is the first animated feature in over a decade from director Chris Sanders, who last worked on 2013's “The Cruise,” so it's not surprising that his early major hits such as “Lilo & Stitch” and “How to Train Your Dragon” ( both of which he co-directed with Dean DeBlois) have been compared favorably. His latest film is his first solo directing effort, for which he also wrote the screenplay (adapted from Peter Brown's novel of the same name).
